The Roles of Teacher in Fostering Effective Classroom Management

Abstract

 The aim of this paper is to identify the characteristics of a professional teacher and outline the various roles teachers can play in fostering effective Classroom management. The paper began with an introduction followed by the concepts of Classroom management. The theoretical framework and the principles of learning derived from Piagetian and classical conditioning approaches were explained. Teachers’ characteristics, and factors that hindered effective Classroom management and Classroom arrangement were elucidated. Procedures for fostering and maintaining an effective Classroom learning environment were also outlined. Conclusion and recommendations were provided.
