An Assessment of Secondary School Teacher’s Attitudes toward Disorder and Mental Health Counseling in Birnin- Kebbi Metropolis Kebbi State, Nigeria

Abstract
The thrust of this paper is to examine the attitudes of secondary school teachers towards disorder and mental health counseling in Birnin-kebbi metropolis in Kebbi State. The paper began with the introduction, concept of mental disorder, causes of mental disorder and their classifications. The paper extensively dwelt on the treatment of mental disorder based on some psychological principles. Attitude of secondary school teachers towards mental health counseling was also elaborated. Finally, conclusion and recommendations were offered. It was recommended that secondary school teachers should be given adequate encouragement to be able to develop positive attitudes towards mental health counseling in schools.
